SET Ixworth school is a small high school set in the picturesque Suffolk countryside. We are over-subscribed and will have around 600 pupils in the school by September 2024.
The school enjoys a positive reputation in the community, as evidenced by the high demand for Year 7 places in September 2024. The students demonstrate respect, motivation and very good behaviour in their learning.
The school`s vision is to provide an education system that truly serves those it educates by always reflecting on and addressing individual needs, strengths, and interests. There is a Specialist Resource Base on site for around 12 pupils, supporting pupils with communication and interaction needs.
The school is currently a “Good” school according to Ofsted, with an inspection from September 2019.
The Role:
- To support students to learn effectively in the classroom following direction from the class teacher.
- May invigilate exams and tests.
- May assist escorting pupils on educational visits.
- May assist with break time supervision including facilitating games and activities.
- Communicates with pupils to support learning and development and encourage acceptable behaviour.
- Exchanges information with staff and parents/carers.
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff.
- Support pupils to understand instructions.
- Support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils.
- Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task.
